Stamping Blank Labels & Tags with Rubber Stamps to Create a Fun Collage Effect

This blank tag printable to stamp on is from AtyMaze on Etsy

Last weekend I had the pleasure of finding ArtyMaze on YouTube and instantly fell in love with her art, her creativity and her lovely British banter. What a treat! She did a video here, where she did some collage stamping on these blanks tags and I was inspired by her to try it for myself. I purchased her files from her Etsy shoppe and gave it ago. It was more fun than I expected LOL!

I got out all my favourite rubber and acrylic stamps, especially the number stamps and my stamps from the Tim Holtz collection called Field Notes and the Correspondence collection as well. I had a great time. I made a video here about why this exercise was so fun and liberating for me. I likened it to colouring outside the lines which is always highly recommended in life in general. As someone who struggles with perfectionism and getting everything “just right”, this was a very freeing project that I will come back to again and again.

Once I got them cut out I was even more impressed with how they turned out.

I was so inspired that I decided to try this on blank manila tags.

What a great excuse to get out all different kinds of stamps and just stamp away for an hour or so.

I am a huge fan of stamps with handwriting and numbers….and round postage stamps, and vintage stamps. Ok, I like most rubber stamps LOL!

I highly recommend that you get out your stamps, some printed tags, labels or even a bit of card stock or brown paper (bags) and just start stamping. It’s not only a great way to create visually interesting pieces to use in your journal but to also remind yourself what rubber stamps you have. if you are like me, you tend to have your go-to pile of stamps and those are the ones that get used the most often. I really like this project because it is a great way to refresh ourselves with what stamps we have and a nice way to reconnect with some of those stamps we might have forgotten about.

If you would like to join me while I create these labels and tags, you can watch my video here.
Happy stamping!! Hugs, Lisa xo
