Easy Paper Pocket Folder for Junk Journal or Snail Mail

Today I have a really easy and fun pocket folder that I found from Natasha at Treasure Books on YouTube. All you need is a pair of scissors, some glue and paper of your choice. This example uses 12 x 12 paper but I am sure you can easily adjust to use another size of paper.

I like that this little folder pocket holds many tags or note cards for hidden journaling (my favourite kind!) and you can stack cards and tags to create a nice collage full of colour, text and various images. It takes no time at all and you can use it for yourself in your journal or it would be fun to fill for a friend or a pen pal.

Here is an example of one I made and filled with tags and paper that I slid over a belly band in my journal.

You can watch me create this pocket here on my YouTube channel of you like or have a look at the photos below.

I am following along with the instructions listed in the YouTube video on Treasure Books video here.
In this example and in the original video she uses a 12 x 12 piece of scrapbook paper. First you fold the paper in half.

Next you score and fold in 3 1/2” from each side. You cut on the fold you made in the middle into the scored fold at 3 1/2” (see her diagram). Next you fold back the four corners and glue them down.

Once your corners are glued down you fold the flaps up and you see how your pockets are formed. You can glue the ends down or leave them open depending on how you are going to use your pocket. Natasha explains it here.

I love the simplicity of these and also how much they hold. They look great in my journal.

The possibilities are endless and I think they would be great add-ons with letters for pen pals and happy mail.

I hope you will give this easy project a try! Enjoy, Lisa xo
